The goal of this project was to illustrate a children's book.
This story was told to me when I was a child, and I decided to illustrate it. It’s about a caterpillar who decides to climb a mountain. On its way, it meets a variety of animals, including a cricket, a ladybird, a fox and a mouse. None of them believe in the little caterpillar’s success and try to discourage it from continuing its journey. The caterpillar doesn’t let itself be dissuaded and proceeds on its way until it finally stops to rest in a cave. The next day, the caterpillar still hasn’t come out of the cave, so the other animals approach it thinking that the caterpillar has died of fatigue. After a few days, a cracking sound comes from the cave. The caterpillar’s cocoon breaks and a beautiful butterfly flies into the sky, reaching the top of the mountain.
The moral of the story is that we must never give up on our dreams just because someone doesn’t believe in us.
